Mercedes extended warranty
I've received a printed brochure from MB via the local dealer that lists their 0 deductable extended warranty. My '03 SLK230 is within 7,000 miles of going out of the factory warranty--and to add 3 years/100,000 total milage coverage is $4250.00---since this is a printed brochure, I am inclined to believe the rep when he stated that there was no haggling over the price.
Opinions and ideas would be appreciated--thanks, Larry

My understanding is that you can buy the warranty wherever you get the best price, and that the price does vary. Personally I don't do 'em, so I don't know where, but somebody will chime in with the gal's name whom everybody seems to say you can get one from for the least amount of money.....

"70chevelle396 Don't buy the warranty. It's a rip off.
Ken"
The only thing not covered to be fixed for 100$ is the tires and break pads. How much would it cost you to replace the supercharger if it goes out, or the transmission? The warrenty only ran me 2250$ for 3 years 45k. Its not a rip off at all, you never know if something might happen to your car.

Abbring--may I ask where you obtained that warranty price? As I said in my post, the price schedule was printed as part of the brochure--not a quote from the rep. Perhaps I should look into a non-mercedes extended warranty? Any opinions on non-Mercedes warranties??
Thanks for the replies---Larry

Hi,
I bought it from the dealership where I purchased my car. It is a non-mercedes warranty but It is the largest warranty company and its good at almost 100% of mercedes dealerships.

2001 SLK320, 6-speed, black, two-tone black/tan interior.
I used Warranty Direct.
My '01 SLK320 was about to come off warranty and I purchased Warranty Direct extended. I don't log many miles on the car, so I purchased an additional 4 years or 60k miles, whatever comes first, bumper to bumper, including emissions for $1,600. I have had two occasions to use it and the MB dealership near my house has no problem using it. No 3rd party parts or any of that crap. MB calls Warranty Direct directly, agree on the price, and do the work. Hope that helps.
