Supercharger Failure?

I have a 2002 SLK32 AMG and when driving it I randomly experience a surge in power (Feels like the car was lightly bumped from behind) immediately followed by the absence of power. The gutless feeling the car is left with remains, unless I back off of the accelerator for at least 5-7 seconds, then things are back to normal.

This problem occurs randomly while cruising on the FWY at 65MPH, or when hotrodding around, doesn't seem to matter. When hotrodding around though, the car is abruptly interrupted in a jolting way, immediately followed by that same absence of power (Almost like some kind of an emergency limp mode).

I have checked fuse 23 (Intercooler Waterpump fuse) and it is fine... any ideas?

Thanks (In Advance)
