Hey fellas,

Well, the girlfriend was driving the SLK the other day and took it to a car wash. The guy there for some reason or another unscrewed the antenna before it went in. It was re-installed when done but now im not getting any radio reception whatsoever. I have visually inspected it but didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. The owner's manual states never to remove the antenna. Does anyone have any ideas here? I am screwed?

Did you get water down in the base of the antenna without the mast on it? I have taken mine off to install a short SL antenna mast. The reception was poor sor I put the original one back one. Sounds like it shorted out the preamp for the incoming signal.

The antenna lead inside must have fallen off the antenna. You'll need to remove the interior trunk panel to get in there and screw it back on.

Hey fellas,

Pulled the small interior panel and sure enough the lead had come off the antenna. Screwed it back in and voila! radio was working. Thanks for the help!
