2001 SLK 320 , 1970 Chevelle SS
lug bolts
Do all the slk's use different lug bolts for the spare tire?

Yes, they are shorter due to the steel wheel being thinner.
You can not use the regular lug nuts as they will hit the rotor / caliper and damage it.
