Need some guidance - US Model, 99 SLK 230, 81K miles

Both the P0130 and P0170 codes came on. I replaced both O2 sensors and reset the P0130 code. I replaced all 4 plugs and the fuel filter. I cleaned the MAF sensor with electronic contact cleaner.

Code P0170 is still on and won't go off when I cancel it.

Any ideas?

Does the engine run normal? Any unusual sounds? The code may point to other problems such as leaks in the exhaust system.

BTW cleaning the MAF sensor is not such a good idea - I've seem numerous posts on SLK websites indicating no benefit or permanant destruction when improper fluids or mechanical tools are used.

Thanks for the inputs.

After cleaning the MAF sensor with contact cleaner (being very careful not to actually touch the contacts) I ran the car for a few days and the check engine light eventuallay went off.

Everything is running great now! Hope it stays that way!
