Black 2001 SLK
I am thinking of buying a 2001 SLK320 in flat black. Were these cars available in metallic black or just flat black and what are everyones thoughts on flat black on this car?

Flat Black? Did someone polish off the clear coat? The basic black is paint coded 040. It does have a shine to it and looks good with chrome wheels. There are metalic dark colors but they are more blue and grey.

That is classic Mercedes black. My wife thinks Mercedes only look good if they are black, white or silver. I've learned to listen to her.
Oh, and I own a black SLK320. And a black '79 450SL. Same color. So I guess I'm a little biased.
