SLK maintenance,,,when??
hello everyone.........i have had my car for 2 weeks now,, but due to my commute to work,, i have already put 2500 miles on it.
do u guys feel i should bring my car in for maintenance now being that i put 2500 miles on it in 2 weeks,,,,,,or if not,,,,,, when should i bring it in?
please help...im a noobie

Holy cow! 2500 miles in 2 weeks is 65,000 miles per year! Tell me that you use your car for things other than commuting. If not, then your commute would be 125 miles each way.
Anyway, I assume you have a long higway commute. Highway miles are the best kind of miles because they are easiest on your car.
As I recall, your car is not new, so there's really nothing you need to do to it. Just wait until the FSS tells you service is required.
Alot of guys, including myself, change the oil every 5K to 6K miles instead of waiting for the FSS service every 10K to 12K miles. It's not necessary, just added insurance.

thanx...yea,,, i live in south jersey and work in northern new jersey .......i have to get on the turnpike( as if u are familiar with it??) 110 miles each way..
yea the car is a 99 with about 30k miles.........i just wasnt sure if all those highway miles was hurting my car very badly very quickly.
