![Question](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I don't have BOSE installed, and having just upgraded the front ones, the sound is still lacking something, so I want to put some in the back as well. Are there holes already there, so it's just a case of getting the wire there and cutting a hole in the rear board? If there are some existing holes I can fit them into, what size speakers should I get?
I've got the MB Quarts in the front, so I really need something a bit lower level for the rears, but am not looking to fit a bass box and all the other bits - I just want to fill in the existing sound a bit.
Thanks guys

MB SLK 200 Kompressor , BMW Z4
Best option : BOSE
Hello ,
I had the same situation.I installed Focal set for the doors but couldn't find any suitable speakers for the rear part.Believe me , its the best way to get a Bose. The price may be a bit problem but the result is really good

I own a 99 SLK. There are 8" woofer holes just behind the seats. I run a pair of Focal 21H as subwoofer to compensate the low freq part. Being 8" you dont really have too many choices for subs. My set up is,
Clarion 9675
Clarion CDC625
Focal Utopia for front doors
Focal 21H as subwoofers
Orion HCCA 250 for Utopia
Zapco Studio 100X for subs
3F cap
Hope it helps.

Yep, that points me in the right direction. Did they go in easily enough? I fitted some MB's in the front and I'd rate that as medium/difficult - how do the rears compare? Presumably the steps are...
1. Channel wire to rear - looks easy enough
2. remove rear board - details on the web how to do this - bt tricky
3. fit speakers - straight in, or is cutting/mounting board required?
4. Fit grills to rear board - easy enough.
5. put everything back together.
6. repeat steps 2 & 5 trying to get rid of the rattles that I've introduced! (at that's true of the front speakers!)

Have a look at my post here My Subs-Speaker-Amp Install I've just changed my speakers in the doors and the rear shelf subs too and also fitted a amp.
There's some pics there too with the grills off so you can see how there all fitted :p
Sounds good now though
These are the Kenwood 6.5" Subwoofers I fitted to the rear shelf.
