SLK/R170: Valve noise in 01 SLK230

Valve noise in 01 SLK230
While driving today out of no where I started getting a huge amount of what I know from building small blocks as lifter tap. I don't know what cause's this noise in OHC engines but I'm looking for some help. What cause's this much valve noise.
