SLK/R170: slk transmission..

slk transmission..
i ve recently bought an automatic slk when you set of it revs through the gears, but if your cruising and press the acceleration pedal to the floor it dosent change down it trys to pull away in whatever gear its in, is that normal? or do i have a problem?

There is a transmission kickdown switch behind the accelerator pedal. You should be able to feel it as you press the pedal to the floor. It's possible this switch has gone bad...

Yes seems to be normal. As stated press throttle to floor and you will feel sw click. It will then force a change down if you really need it.
Throttle goes non linear due to adaptive setup. Throttle body can be reset by
1. open door
2. put key in ign and turn to run (not start)
3. press throttle to floor board
4. hold for 10 secs
5. turn key to off
6. release throttle pedal
7. wait 2 full minutes.
Start and drive a way.
Doesnt stay reset for a long time though, have to repeat above from time to time if it works for you.
