Question Phone power adaption/splicing

So, I got sick of the old OEM Motorola brick phone in the armrest, and decided to pull it out. Much to my surprise, i discovered that the phone interfaces with the car through an ethernet cable-esque device -- that is, the power and data is sent through a cable made up of smaller wires with a square male/female jack.

My question is: Is it possible for me to convert this phone cable into a secondary 12V power outlet (like another cigarette lighter)? Which color wires within the main wire are my power and ground?

Just use a multimeter to identify the wires.
However I suspect that this power source will be of very limited use: those little thin wires won't handle much current.
