Intercooler specs?
I am tired of waiting for Vaeth to return emails and they want 1.3K for the larger intercooler. Great design and work is very nice but it cost so much. I am hoping that someone out there has the demensions of the stock intercooler. I tried very briefly and the core is approx. 22"x5"x2" and it flows approx. 450cfm. The Vaeth intercooler is the same length but the wideth is 3" and the height is close to 7".
I found some I/C cores online and a unit 22"x6"x3" flows 693 cfm which is about what the Vaeth would flow. One person I know who installed the Vaeth reported a pressure drop of .5lb and the engine ran much cooler which made up for the pressure loss and the engine will last longer.
I know of the previous attempts at this. Look at the Renntech I/C that was fabricated a few years ago. The end tanks look like they would flow less air than the stock I/C. Hence the reported problems. Who knows. As always thanks for any input.
