Problems with the top comming up?

Hey guys,

This is my first thread over here at MB World and I would like to thank you guys in advance regarding my "rookie question"

I have a 2001 SLK 230 with 30 000 miles on it and I am having some problems with the top. My top has never had any problems and such but just today after sitting for a while I went to put the top up and it wouldn't budge.

The red button is flashing quickly, which the owners manual says is the trunk lid/luggage cover problem. I have checked both and they are fine.

Does anybody have any suggestions for me? I don't want to manually raise the top, but I was thinking maybe disconnecting the battery to possibly reset the system?

Thanks once again in advance.

Evan

There are micro switches in the top corners above windscreen and others in boot .

Try slamming boot lid down to jar the boot ones...

The front ones get affected if they are hot. Try again when cooler.
