Vibration noise is killing me

After investigation, the noise is coming from the tramission shifter. Whenever I step on the gas pedal, the shifter is making vibration noise. I can stop it by putting my hand on the shift knob. Please show me how I can repair myself. Thanks in advance.

Does it have a manual transmission? Maybe its a u-joint.

It is a worn plastic bushing.

Search this site for the repair.

Type in "shifter vibration" in the "search this forum" box.

Thank you guys for your help. The link is very useful with clear photos showing the repair. I will try doing the job myself on my dayoff. Thanks again.

I had similar problem and got it replaced for for $96 ($1.45 part and $95 labor.) The part number on my invoice says: 202-992-00-10 Bushing.
