SLK/R170: Oil Change

Oil Change
Hey guys.. I am new to all this, so yet again probably a dumb question. Do I need to use a special type of oil and filter for my 01'SLK or can I just use Mobil 1. Thanks peeps! Any advice would help out greatly.
Also, I tried to start my car this morning and it took longer to start because it was outside in the cold. Any ideas??

Oil: Mobil 1 0w40 European Formula. You can buy it at Wal-Mart. It uses 8.5 qts.
Filter: Genuine Mercedes filter is probably best. You'll also need a filter wrench that fits the oil canister cap.
Can't help you on the cold start..because we don't have much cold weather in South Texas!
