Pictures of my Sub Install - 2 IDMAX12s
Well, I think I finally have my car audio setup finalized in the SLK. After at least 4 revisions, it is complete. I started with a single JL 10W7. Then I purchased 1 IDMAX12. Then, I decided I wanted more, so I bought another IDMAX12. I had a friend fabricate a fiberglass tub in the spare tire well and made a top for it. Unfortunately, it proved to be too small to perform well with my subs. We enlarged the enclosure by adding a section on top of the existing portion, and it sounds much better now. You'll notice that the trunk is Dynamatted. With the windows up and the system at full-tilt, you really don't hear the music that loudly so I'm not one of "those" people. The bass is extremely accurate and sounds great. My complete system consists of:
Alpine 9851 Head Unit (MP3 support and AUX in for streaming internet radio through my phone)
Stock Bose Speakers (Bose amp removed)
Polk 400.4 (powering the speakers, DRASTIC improvement)
Rockford Fosgate RF1001bd (powering the subs)
