SLK/R170: C-pillar rub problem!
Got a little problem that i need som help with solving.
I went to the main mercedes dealer in sweden to have my car (SLK 230K -99) serviced for the first time (1500 km) and i asked them to take a look at the c-pillar rub and the trunk to see if they could do something.
When i got it back they told me that the marks was there because the car had been rearended earlier and that the hit had made the trunk to move a bit upward and thus the marks......
Since i've got a written letter from the authorized MB Dealer in germany where i bought it that says that the car has not been smashed (i asked about it before i bought it), and since i've noticed several other SLK with little marks on the c-pillar im guessing that they lied me right in the face....
.So plz gimme your opinion about this and if you have any pics on c-pillar rub i'll gladly take them as evidence!

It's a common problem. I had the same of my SLK. The dealer added some ships and buffed out the marks. They offered to re-paint that section, but I declined as the buff job worked just fine.

Don't know what to do! I told him about all the other cars in germany and the U.S with the same problem but he just kept saying that he would have known about it if it had been a problem....
