o2 Sensor (HHEEELLLPP???)

So I have had my 2001 SLk230 for only about 5 months now and I've had to change the same 02 sensor 2 times. The Check Engine light came on again almost a month after it was changed. It is the 02 sensor in the front. Any ideas of why it keeps on going bad??

I asked my mechanic if it could be the ECU, or maybe the car is overheating and burning it out?? Or maybe the supercharger?

I'm going to change it one more time but does anyone have any ideas why this is happening and if this is a common occurence on the SLK230??

Are you getting the correct O2 sensor from Mercedes? Sometimes they go bad by coolant getting on them from a blown head gasket. Are you having any other problems with the car?

o2 sensor

I'm not having any other problems with the car. How would I know if the head gasket is blown?? The car is running well with no problems, the only code the check engine light is throwing is for the o2 sensor.

I am going to take it to the mechanic again!! Is there anything I should ask the mechanic to fix while replacing the 02 sensor again for the third time? I just hope its not leading to a bigger problem that I need to fix.

Should I ask my mechanic to do a diagnostic check on the car while he changes it?? ANY ADVICE would be greatly appreciated. I just don't want it to blow again!!!

It sounds like theres some other problem. Did you take it to a Mercedes dealership?
