Overfill causing stalls

Just got gas...too much of it, caused by a faulty pump. Drove my SLK230 home and it started stalling. I also notice that there is no longer any audible pressure release when opening the gas cap.

I've told the owner of the gas station that if there's a repair involved, he's on the hook, but I'm hoping that won't be necessary. I've seen others with this problem, but haven't heard how it was resolved. Anybody?

Thanks...

ouch

You might need to replace your charcoal canister.

Not always the fault of the PStation pump..
Drive for a while and see if it clears.

You can drain the cannister. Under cover in front of r/h rear wheel.

It should eventually purge at hot idle.

Ive overfilled mine many times.

Hey RAG...I had that very thing happen to me at a gas station. Turned my head to wash the windows and it was like a freakin' gusher coming out the side of my car. As I drove away, the car hesitated and chugged a little. After driving it long enough the get the fuel down to a "normal fill" level, I didn't have anymore issues with it. The only problem I have occasionally now is forgeting to put the cap back on. Real cool driving a great looking car down the road with the cap off and the gas door open. I might as well hang a "MORON" sign out the back.
