SLK/R170 Automatic Door Locking at Low speed

Automatic Door Locking at Low speed

As the title suggests,
We have a ML and at above a certain speed (10 MPH) the doors automatically lock.

Can the same be done on a early (97) pre-facelift SLK ?

If so, what is the procedure to activate it ?

I know that the ML system can be de-activated,and activated when ever it suits the owner by following the Glove box handbook.

There seems to be no reference in our SLK Handbook,

Any ideas how to activate the system

Press and hold sw IF FITTED with key symbol on it.

Thank you Bazzle,I will try this out from Page 80.

Funny thing is i have had this car 10 years now, and i do not know if this system is activatable on the car.

Nothing ventured nothing gained as you might say.
