Changing shift interlock boot

called a linkage on the package, PN A 140 270 13 65 It is shown here

http://www.benzworld.org/forums/r170...sion-leak.html

Can anyone tell me how this thing comes apart?? Getting to it's easy enough but the lever it's connected to will move far enough regardless of gear. Do I have to remove the shifter linkage or something? It looks like if I could move the part in front of the lever (that moves with the shifter) past park then the lever that the boot connects to could move far enough that it would pop out.

In the picture I linked to it looks like the end was cut off of the old one, but how do you get it back together?

Thanks, I'd like to get the car back together! That's what I get for thinking that it would be obvious once I got there! I bought the useless alldatadiy subsscription, no use. I also have a copy of WIS on the way but I'd like to be able to drive to work instead of bumming rides :-) And we were going to take a long 1000+ mile road trip this weeknd but she had to start leaking.
