About to Purchase
Greeting from the W210 forum.
My friend is about to purchase a 2002 slk 230 kompressor. 42,000miles
in baja blue...?!?! LOL
The car seems to work great, all the electronics work well and the only problem is the convertible top has an intermittent problem.....it works when it wants to and doesnt when it doesnt want to.
is there an explaantion for this???
What should he look out for???

Not meaning to sound callous but the explanation is: It's broken.
I'm assuming your friend is buying it from a private party? If so, either have the seller fix it before selling it to your friend, OR before buying it take the car to a mechanic that you trust and have him look at it and make his diagnosis and get a price to fix the problem and then deduct the cost of fixing it from the selling price.
