Oil Change Interval
I own a 99 SLK 230, for the last 3 years, now having just over 100k miles.
Having a lot of confusion with respect to oil change.
The FSS indicator was always reset to 12K miles after my oil changes. I put mobile synthetic oil. So, after my last oil change at 89k in July 07, I still have 1k to go. My FSS indicators always seem to count down from exactly 12k miles, without any change. Is it just distance-based?
But, I am curious to see in all forums, that the recommended oil change interval even with synthetic oil is 7.5k-10k, not more than that.
