1998 SLK 230 Kompressor, Silver, Charcoal fabric interior (ex JDM model)
Talking Newbie from New Zealand

Greetings people,
I live in the city of New Plymouth in the country of New Zealand (like, Way down under!)

I've just purchased a 98 SLK 230 Kompressor from a buddy of mine who owns a used car dealership in my city.
It's a JDM model in Silver, with the Charcoal cloth/fabric interior.
Done 54,000kms (33k mls), 1 owner Japan & now me in NZ.
I payed $18k(NZD) ($14,176 USD) for it, which seems pretty good for the excellent condition it's in.
A great little car & my first Merc (driven lots, but not owned before).

Previous car was a 92 Lexus SC400, great car,...........but time for a change.

OK guys, that's it from me at the mo.............keep the shiny side up, and don't spare the sheep.........err, I mean horses! HaHaHa!

Good for you! I'm sure you'll love it. We've had an '01 320 since last October and really enjoy it. From what I understand, performance is almost identical, and it sure is a solid, sporty car. It's been such a lousy spring here that ther ehasn't been much top-downing yet, but I did blast around enough last Saturday to get a slightly sunburned pate/ Enjoy - and welcome to the forum and the land of Mercs.

It changes all the time
Isn't that an oxymoron? Buddy/used car dealer Considering the low miles if your BUDDY didn't roll it back the price is comparable to California. I think the w170s are great fun cars. The only reason I chose a W129 over it is, because we like to take long road trips, and there just isn't enough space when the Vero roof is down. Enjoy the new car and welcome. By the way sheep are the reason Levi Straus came out with button jeans way before the zipper models. Way back in the 19th century they were aware of the fact that sheep have keen hearing, and can hear the sound of a zipper hundreds of yards away.
