Hi there,

I have a 2001 SLK230 6 speed. One day and without any problems, The BAS/ESP warning light came on as soon as I started the car. It stayed on for two days and then it turned off by itself. next day, it came back on, and something strange happened. As I was moving within the residential area at about 3 mph, one of the right front wheel activated what seems to be the ABS, and the car pulled hard to the right for a small instance eventhough my foot was on the gas pedal. Since that time, this happened again three times within the past week, and the BAS/ESP light is still on.

I thought there might be something stuck near the front wheels, but when checked, I found nothing out of the ordinary.

I really appreciate any suggestions that may help me solve this problem.

Might be a wheel bearing that is locking up at slow speed. jack the car up and see if the wheel wiggles

Check the abs tone rings are clean too plus sensor wires.
