SLK/R170: Need help pricing an 03 SLK320 for sale
Since I'm "the car guy" around the office and had pretty good luck selling my NSX online, the CEO (gulp) has asked me to help him sell his '03 SLK320 w/27K miles which he has had no luck selling via autotrader. I suspect the main reason (as is usually the case) is probably the amount he's asking (and probably lack of information in his ad may have contributed).
I searched the for sale forums here to try to get a ballpark idea of what others are asking, but couldn't find a similar vehicle. I checked autotrader, where they're priced from $26K to $16K. I checked KBB for private seller, fair condition, which came out to $22,390K. However I'm aware that for some vehicles, these benchmarks have really no bearing on reality. He's asking $25K OBO and from what I've seen that doesn't seem way out of line if KBB is accurate, perhaps a tad high, but I guess I'm trying to find out what I should be using as a benchmark (and need to justify to him why he may need to adjust his price).
For options it has (just cutting and pasting, I'm sure some of these aren't even options like the convertible
):AMG wheels
HARD TOP CONVERTIBLE(PUSH BUTTON)
SLIP CONTROL
SPORT PACKAGE
POWER STEERING
POWER WINDOWS/LOCKS
CRUISE CONTROL
MULTIPLE DISK CD PLAYER
DUAL FRONT/SIDE AIRBAGS
ABS (4 WHEEL)
MEMORY SYSTEM
HEATED SEATS
WOOD GRAIN
Any advice would be appreciated since it's always good karma to help the CEO
. As a disclaimer, I have no personal interest in the vehicle, I get no finder's fee, yadda, yadda, just trying to help out the big wigs. Thanks!

Its not about what car he sells, what color it is,is very important, interior and exterior.
Also, if the car has power seats...
I know alot of people, especially dealers, do not go by KBB,and they have their own list, which is called "the black book"
Plus, he is asking too much for that car,as a private seller...in my view.
There is dealer by me here in Ohio, he sells the slk 320, 2002, with 17.500 miles for $18.900 with 90 days or 3000 miles 100% labor warranty.
so people rather go with a dealer who is cheaper with warranty than a private seller with no warranty.
So buyer usually compare prices all over...i am sure he will sell his car,if he goes down few grand.
