I want to post this as a follow-up to a previous question about using dissimilar tires on my 1999 SLK Sport with 50Kmiles. I attributed the excessive wander and steering-wheel feedback to the use of existing Dunlops in front and new Michelins in rear. The symptoms became worse and I suspected the steering damper. I replaced the damper and the car drives like new again. Does anyone know the torque specs for the damper bolts.
