If you want these tail lights, you don't need pics to see how cool they are. By the time I install these and post pics the group buy will be long gone. Here are some pictures I found on the internet not too long ago:

Got a set! This is the best mod you can do to your R170 along with the HID kit for the headlights and the fog lights. Wow, I'm impressed! BTW, hello all....newbie here ;-)

Can you post pictures of your new tail lights. I'm still waiting for my set to arrive in the mail; any day now... Customs are taking their time.

Also, how hard was it to get HID lights in your fog lamps? Do you have the AMG fog lamps? I've been wanting to do that but have never got around to it, so I just have an extra pair of 4300K HIDs & digital 55W ballasts lying around the house.

P.S. if anyone is still interested in obtaining Fully Smoked Tail lights, PM me, I'm still able to get those at a discounted rate but I only have room for 5 more buyers!

And K2motors removed thier listing for neweggmall. Now you have to go directly through them to buy these tail lights. Price is a little higher but still worth it, if you look hard enough through thier index of/ you can find a coupon or two FYI.

Access the index here:

http://site.k2motor.com/

Then search through the current monthly folder for promotions.

This is at night with only parking lights on...(oh yeah, still waiting on paperwork to get my NV plates!;-)~)

During sunny day, with lights, reverse and brakes on!

new projector headlights with halos... I used 4300K on headlights but got the 6000K for the fog lamps by sender's error, but all it is, is a little bluish color not much though.

and here is a pic of HID fog lamps. Its very simple plug n play, nothing to it. Next is new drilled and slotted rotors!

I hope all the pics came out ok? All above items were purchased on eBay and I am very happy with all...FYI

You car looks awesome, I would suggest EBC rotors and brakes. I have a pair and they work real good with the occasional squeekage, no biggie. You should look into LED lights for the Halo Pro lights. Check the pics; V-leds dot com. Still waiting for the LED tail lights.....

OMG!!! I just ordered the same rims as yours! hahahah I got the 18's 8" fronts and 9" rears. Also, what kind of tires are you running? Also, get the shorty antenna like the SL500's have! There is no difference in reception and it looks so much cleaner...damn I like those rims.

Also, thnx for the compliment, your car is very clean and it will shine even better with those LED taillights!! wow, I like it!

How come you're waiting on those lights this long? I got mine within 48 hrs. Fact is, they came from Cali next state over to Nevada but still?

I got rid of the nasty hot bulbs over the lic plate, trunk and inside dome lights and switched over to the very bright white LED's. That made a difference too....very easy and it never gets hot and it appears to give off at least twice the light output.

The 19" rims are 9.5" up front and 10.5" in the rear; the front do rub however. I have 235/35 and 265/30 nexon n3000 extremely low profile tyres b/c you can get those off ebay for dirt cheap, good traction as well.

I know all about the LEDs light conversion, they look much better and do put out more (white/blue) light. Here is my list, just waiting on the tail lights before I purchase the super bright 7 watt LED blinker lights.

V-LEDs light conversion=> (4) amber 19 SMT--168 (side markers and bumper lights), (2) white/amber type 2 dual color change 60 M-SMT--1156 (front blinkers), (2) white 12 M-SMT--6418 (license plate lights); (2) white 20 M-SMT--6418 (dome lights); (2) amber 20 .5W M-SMT--1157 (rear blinkers); (2) white 60 M-SMT--1157 (reverse lights); & if you have projector lights: (2) white 27 M-SMT--168 (city lights--modification required). With HID headlights and foglights, you will have the brightest car within a 25 mile radius!

Talking FYI

Don't paint your brakes, that's tacky. Get them powder coated instead, much better finish. Anyways here are some pictures from happy group buyers. For more pictures visit:

BTW this GB will be closing for good come 4/10/09.

My point, liverfreeordie, is whether you want a tacky, lumpy, semi-glossy shine, half-*** protected caliper by going en-route of DIY caliper paint; or whether you want a professional ultra glossy, smooth finish, fully protected powder coated caliper; furthermore, a powder coated surface is easier to clean and attracts less brake dust because its superior layer of paint. However, if you do want that nice finish with caliper paint you can always give it more than one coat or you might as well forgo the paint and settle for the plastic caliper covers. And don't forget the AMG decals. The effect is the same from afar which ever you decide upon but upclose can you only appreciate a powder coat.

Granted, powder coats are order of magnitudes more expensive than the simple DIY caliper paint, but when all the chips fall, are you going to settle for the best or not. Like I told an acquaintance of mine: "the best coat is a powder coat. Settle for only the best." Nano powdercoats (jet hot) are really the best but that's really necessary for this application.

I agree powder coat is very nice, i had many parts coated over the years and spent lots of money for that stuff. I bought a kit two years ago to paint my calipers, granted it took two days and about four coats before they looked good. If you take your time and do a nice job it looks just as good as powder coating for a fraction of the price.

Good point livefreeordie, if you take your time and apply many coats of caliper paint and then a gloss coat, you can get a nice finished product--maybe as nice as a powder coat. However, many people don't take their time and thus only apply one or two coats to the front parts of the calipers (only the parts you can see) and completely ignore the inside and backside of the caliper. That is just tacky, literally.

Without further delay, here are some more pictures (of my car). This GB was a success, and is now officially closed. If you still want fully smoked tail lights, visit carparts-online.de

See, I agree 100% on your smoked tail lights..they do look awesome! BUT...your car is black and it goes with it. I like my regular LED tail lights cause it looks good on a silver or a light color car.

Again, your combo is awesome!

Found this when I was searching for a thread on how to change a tail light and I am probably going to jump on it, I am very happy with the way black looks with the smoked tails.

Oh heck ya! If I had a black SLK I would've already had it! It does match great.

A little update on my car tho. Ref the shorty antenna...the reception really stinks so I put the long original SLK antenna back on. I have no clue how the SL500 can get any reception? I presume both have the RF amp right? Is 500's more powerfull?
