SLK/R170: Cold start wierd noise?

Cold start wierd noise?
Hi all,
Here is the problem:
In the morning, when I first start the car (R170 '01 SLK230), the engine sounds like crap! Sounds like I have an exhaust gasket leak but I know I dont since I went in and tightened everything up (nothing was lose) The loud ticking is coming from the front, like possibly in the area of the supercharger or next to it.
The car has barely 60K miles, runs like a champ! I did drop a header in, but it wasnt making that noise before and after at all. Now after about 15-25 seconds it kinda goes away but geez, when I first start it, it sounds like a darn tank!!!
Has anyone else experienced anything similar please if you could drop a line what it was or any ideas what it could be? I will be doing more inspections with the mirror today but as of right now, I'm speachless
