slk230 top operation for dummies
hi im test driving a 99 slk230 the top wont retract, the boot doesnt open, when i push the button to close you can here it operate. of course there no manual in the car, so i dont know if im missing a step or not. can some please be kind enouph to walk me through how they open there top. I want to be sure of what im buyin

the only thing to open a functional top is to ensure the cover in the trunk is closed and the car isnt moving. push the red button to the rear. if it blinks then something is amiss , a sensor bad or cover open. if the light is red and still wont open then you have other issues.
when the button is depressed the windows drop first then the trunk opens and the roof retracts into the trunk then trunk closes
