slk transmition
My gear stick will not always select from park I have to push a screwdriver down the hole to release the stick

What is the problem

You may want to check to see if the brake light switch is working properly. Brake must be pressed in order to shift out of park so perhaps the switch sends the signal to the shifter lock. I would start there.

thanks matey, this might tie in with ny abs/asb/esp light staying on, change it tommorow
