Car died in parkway traffic

Traveling on the Cross Bronx Expressway two weeks ago, the vehicle lost all forward momentum. I went from 50 MPH to a stand still, the engine was running; however, no forward movement.

Right before this event, I had downshifted from D to Third and back up to D, which leads me to think it was some type of sensor connected to the automatic transmission or shift stick.

Once the vehicle was stopped, on the roadway (passing lane) I turned the engine off & removed the key. Then went into the start up process again, the vehicle started fine, shifted fine and proceeded on my way without further incident. In addition, I have not used the shift stick again, unless necessary to engage vehicle into park, reverse, or drive.

The Cross Bronx Expressway is not a place to get stuck, even on a good day. I have a OB error reading, will there perhaps be an error code thrown for this? Or is there any know history for such a incident?

Thanks again, Bobby
