SLK/R170: BAS ESP / CHECK ENGINE car cutting out

BAS ESP / CHECK ENGINE car cutting out
Hey all,
I was just driving down a freeway and the BAS ESP light just came on, also the exclaimation triangle came on aswell, they both stayed on. The car didnt seem to change in anyway until i came off the feeway and came to a stop, the car cut out, thankfully it started up
I then went to a place for about 30 minutes, came out and the car started fine, the car drove for about 50 yards and died, could not get it started plus it wouldnt come out of park.
I got the car towed home and when i was reversing it down off the tow truck i decided to try it, it then started and drove fine into my driveway. I'm really confused.
Another thing, since we bought the car 3 weeks ago, there has been a check engine light on constantly, i brought it back to the dealers and they ran a diagnostic on it, the diagnostic came back with two errors of fuel trim, in bank one and two. The mechanic said it will drive fine, but now having major issues. We bought the car as is and im worried now.
Any help would be great, ty.
