Question Changing the radio in the SLK

I've recently ordered an SLK, but would like to swap out the radio and put in an MP3 player instead. Can anyone confirm whether I'll still have full access to the TeleAid system, and whether I'll lose out on any features by swapping out the original radio.

Thanks

Changing Head unit

Yes you can change the head unit. I did it in my SLK32 AMG. (Pioneer). You'll lose the use of the optical connection to the MB CD changer (option), but Tele-Aid will be unaffected.
The SLK is the only current model that doesn't have the COMMAND system. So you can add just about any non OEM electronics.
If your car has the Bose system it takes a speaker level output (1 stereo pair) from the head unit - Forget about using a fader.

Good Luck and enjoy your SLK

SLK32 AMG
Just FYI, the Bose amp in the SLK also takes line level inputs (RCA from your deck)
