R/R Headlamps
If you are talking about R/R the headlamps, it is pretty straightforward.
There is a black cover that you remove by depressinng a catch at the top with your thumb. Then the low or high beam headlamps can be removed by squeezing a wire holder with your fingers or needle nose pliers and swinging it out of the way.
When you replace a halogen headlamp, be careful not to let your oily fingers touch the glass which can lead to premature failure. I use a clean handkerchief.

In my signature theres a link to mercedes owners manuals,
page 219 in the year 2000 slk owners manual
if your looking to remove the headlight unit (3 bolts) you need to remove the parking, standing and turn signal, (page 221) to expose a bolt under the unit
