I am currently in the process of buying a 1998 SLK230(White on Black/Blue) for my son. I have viewed the car in person, and it appears as though it has been fairly well taken care of. This will be our first MB so I am not very familiar with these cars. There are also no maintenance records that come with the car.
The car has 165,XXX km's on it.
The thing that concerned me, was when the car was revved to about 2.5k-3K I could hear what sounded like a wooshing noise (I assumed it was the s/c kicking in)
Is this normal?

I am going to see the car again this week.... Is there anything else I should look for before finalizing the deal?

Well, I went and looked at the car again yesterday and finalized the deal. The car will be delivered to us next weekend.
