whining noise when the heater/AC is turned on???
so today my windshield started to get foggy so I turned on the air and all of the sudden the AC started to make this annoying whining sound when its on (like a remore control car). It does it with both the heater and the AC. Anyone had this problem before? Winter season means I'll be using the heater a lot and don't want to always get annoyed with that whine-sound.
What could be the problem? thanks

Is the noise coming from the engine bay? Open the hood and hear if the noise if coming from the front of the engine. The bearing on the A/C compressor could have worn out. A new A/C compressor is very expensive.
So, no noise with the A/C off and with only the heat on and fan running???

If the bearing on the AC compressor is bad, just open the hood and hear the noise. You'll hear it. If you don't hear that noise from the front of the engine, it's most likely that the bearing in the blower motor fan is bad. I think the blower motor fan is about $200. It's located behind the glove compartment. Take a video and post it on youtube. Record the sound after opening the hood. And record another one inside the car.
