Hi there,

There is a 2-3 seconds delay after I put my SLK320 from park to drive mode.
During those 2-3 sec if I push the gas it just revs the engin.
Which IMHO is pretty annoying

The dealership claims this is normal for all automatic SLKs. They did run a system diag and all the numbers matched whatever it was in their books.

Anyway has anyone noticed this behavior? Is this normal.

Mine is quite instant. I think 2-3 secs is a little long.

I experienced exactly this same problem. I had to switched off the car and re-start it again to get it back to normal.

Service center man said , it is problem of the computer controlled gear box. SLK is electronic gear system , this problem happens because of some failure in the computer system. Sometimes , it happends.

He suggested that should the problem happen again, I should get the car for inspection. If not , just keep driving it.

For the 320 the transmission is different than the lower models to accomodated all the extra tq and hp. I have the same hesitation, but it is normal for the 320/32 models.
