im highly considering swapping my sedan for a 00 slk230
they get the same fuel economy and thats what matters to me cuz i will be using it as an everydayer, im just concerned about the reliability issues other then the noises that everyone complains about from their top
how is the 2.3l supercharged engine interms of reliability?
i know my non super charged 2.3l in the c230 is bulletproof
no probs other then a faulty air mass meter.
i'd prolly go with silver and get a CLK Grill like right away heh
maybe change wheels to the AMG ones on the slk32

I took my slk 230 to the track a while ago and I got 14.9 1/4 mile time. It feels like its in the mid 6s 0-60. The pulley increases a noticable amount of power

I'm male and I was 29 when I bought my SLK230. I was satisfied enough that I bought the SLK32.
Back in 1998, I read some official marketing info from Mercedes. It's been awhile, but if my memory is correct, the target market for a brand new SLK back then was 38 years old, $80,000 annual income and a 50/50 male/female split.
We did a survey on the Benzworld forum a couple years ago and out of about 30 responses, the average age was indeed 38, but the male/female split was more like 95/5 (we didn't survey income). I'm pretty sure that any sample from an internet forum is not representative of the average SLK owner.

SLK 230 Limited Edition
Wow, I was wondering if a survey was done before. Well, I guess I know now. If I had the money, I would get an SLK32 to replace my SLK 230 anyday. Keep on truckin'.

SLK 230 Limited Edition
Both of your cars are awesome. I noticed that you live in Houston. We may have passed each other at one time. Well, if you see an SLK 230 Limited Edition, I'm guessing that the chances that it is me is 1 in 4. I've only seen three other Limited Editions in the Houston area.

I am 20 now but got mine right after I turned 16 and in reply to how I got mine, "I make money the old fashioned way, I inherit it!" I love it and although there are faster cars out there I wouldn' change it for anything. except maybe a an amg 32 if it came with a 6 speed.

SLK 320 (2002 Model)
I'm 33, male, I bought it 1 month ago and I love my new car...hehehe
This car is fast, absolutly FUN to ride, and very sexy, a really turn-head for people I encounter on the road.
My only complain is, this beautifull car can not be parked on the street for a long time. You must drive it from garage to garage. I live in Spain, and some Spanish people here hate, people with beautifull cars and when they found one parked in the street, they make... (I don't know the world in English, but I bet everybody understand what I mean) ...with a key or something sharp in the sides of the car, destroying the coated paint.
I'm not maried and this car is Ok for me, but I don't really think SLK is for 30-40 aged males, because the average 30-40 aged males have small childrens and wife. (Maybe like a second car it's posible).
I think the best age range to own this car like a primary car is from 20 to 30 years old, but who can afford to buy a Benz when you are a university student, not me... Until now of course !!!
Regards :P

" <--- they are idiot , i really hate that kind of people
also , i think people who is over 40 yrs old , probably would consider the SL class rather than SLK
well , I'd get SL rather than SLK now if i could afford it , hehe

Absolutely love it. Low gear acceleration is addicting, as well as flying hair and the almost even tan. I thought driving a black one would not be as flashy, but it still receives alot of attention on the road. Hate it when people think I am a trophy-gf/wife, if that was the case, I better be driving an SL! Heh, I wish!![Wink](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)

Male 38,
I dreamt of owning it since I was 31. Then the dream came true 7 years later.
During those 7 years , I always look at those SLK running on the Bangkok street with words in my mind that " I WILL OWN IT ONE DAY".
Once it arrived , it inspires my younger colleque to own it one day as well.
In Thailand , the sunlight is too strong to drive it topdown especially during 10:00 am till 16:30. But in winter season (not that cold when compare to other countries) we can do it.
Love it as much as everybody here does.
