Hi,

First post here so go easy on me

I've searched the forums but cant find this covered so...

Has anyone had to replace a bulb in the instrument cluster? I have a '98 SLK 230K and the bulb behind 0-60MPH section of the speedo has blown.

I can't see any obvious way of getting to it, other than to pay a MB tech for a couple of hours of his time. A bit excessive for a little light bulb.

Does anyone know what rating of bulb I should use? And how to get the instrument cluster apart?

I hade the same problem with my SLK -98 but I sold it before I even tried. The local Mercedes dealer wanted about $400 to replace the lamp!

cluster pullers (about $40 on e bay)
Bulbs (about $3)
1 hour of your time

Are these cluster pullers generic or unique to the SLK?

Anyone know where I can get them from in the UK?
