Would you buy an R170 SLK 6-speed in today's age?
Currently a C55 owner and looking for a relatively cheap convertible 6-speed to toss around for fun top-down-cruising days. I've been looking heavily at Crossfires, but at the same time I know that I should be looking at R170's as well. While the Crossfire may be relatively "newer", I actually prefer the interior of the R170. In today's age of a platform over 2 generations old (more, really), would you buy one?

Look really, really close, if I am not mistaken they are the exact same car, but the crossfire has a little less insulation and what not to bring the price down. Its been years since I looked at one but I do remember all the switches being straight from a mercedes even and I want to say the vin signals that they were built in Germany. Like I said its been years since I looked at them but thats what I remember. Also I was looking for an r170 before I found a nice e430

If you're looking at Crossfires you might as well include the R171. Prices have come way down, but as you're aware, the R170 is even cheaper. Happy searching!
