SLK/R170: few questions about the slk

few questions about the slk
ok, well im in the market of a roadster, something that will let me feel the twisties more than my awd, so right now Im debating weather to get the boxster, or the slk.
If it wernt the problem of me acessing the engine in the boxster I would have it already. but due to the fact, I like to see the engine and tinker, work on it, is what led me to the slk.
now, Im abit concerned about the traction system in the slk. It seems that even with the esp off the brake system still activates? or something in that area correct?
is there a way to turn the system off all together? like an aftermarket electronic system? or is it stuck?
also is it possible for the slk to do donuts, just a q, id be fun to do one on the test drive and find out, but with the sales person next to me, its kinda hard.
btw, im looking at the slk 230 manual 6 speed.
