SLK320 A/C Issue-update
I bought an 03 SLK320 back in May. Pretty much immediately started having AC problems. The used car dealer I bought it from told me to take it to the MB dealership and they will cover any repairs. Dearlership said the AC was overcharged and sent me on my way. No change--blew hot. Took it back and they ended up replacing the compressor and dryer. That still didn't fix the problem. Took the car back to the dealership a third time and they kept it for a week or so. I left them alone and didn't pressure them. They ended up changing what my "consultant" called "the control head" and everything has been working great since. The place I bought it from paid for the first two visits to the shop but I didn't even check with them when I took it back the last time. My boy said they replaced the control head at no charge because I have been patient. Who does that? Almost too good to be true and I'm skeptical. After a lot of aggravation right after the purchase, things seem to be working out well. Another thing--the ESP/BAS light would occasionally come on but after that last trip to the dealership the ESP/BAS light has not come on. I hope this helps some of you who are dealing with the slk ac issues. Thanks to those of you who tried to help me on this a while back.
