Please help.. SLK230 won't start, No crank
Hi, My Slk230 won't crank over at all?
It had the same fault a couple of times but moving the selector in and out of park it would go again but now nothing? Appreciate your input...
Tried so far: New battery, reconditioned K40 relay, dismantled and cleaned ignition switch, removed and tested starter motor cleaned all battery leads just replaced the gear selector switch.

Thanks for your post Dandb 
I bypassed everything and put a push start button on the centre console and it started (first time in a month of trying??) 
After giving it absolute death around the block it kinda backfired and blew out alot of carbon.. Since then it now starts with the key?? Hope it's sorted now but if it happens again all I have to do is push my pretty chrome button
