Question does anyone know what kind of integrated phone....

a 1999 slk 230 would have? I am going to check one out at the dealer and probably purchase it if everything goes ok. It has the integrated phone and I wasn't sure what kind of phone would be there. THanks for any help!

Its one of those Motorola flip phone things. A V-60 maybe? I'm not positive.

In 1999, most vehicles had a Motorola StarTac (Analog) phone as optional equip.

SLK 320
Motorola StarTac TimePort Telematix

At least this is what my research indicates for my 2001 SLK 320. I bought mine pre-owned and the previous owner decided to keep his phone, apparently. I'm looking into switching over to this one, but it costs $500 for just the phone!!!

Post Integrated Phone

Originally the 1999 Slk 230 only came with an option for the analog Motorola Startac when the car was sold. As the stereo and all fiber optic wiring is identical to the 2000 year car and I believe with the 2001 year SLK you can have a Digital Startac 7800 series put in it. Expect to pay somewhere in the $1200-$1400 dollar range for this option including installation. While the phone is extremely similar to the Startac 7868, It is only a dual mode phone vs the trimode phone u would buy at a Mobile phone store. The difference between the Tri and the Dual mode is basically the roaming capability. With the Dual mode phone, there might be some areas where you unable to get a signal in which a trimode phone will work. Now since you are going to be using this in your car and most likely in your local calling area, there is a pretty good chance that you will never be in an area where this becomes a factor. Where you might run into this, is if you are on vacation or business a good distance from your home calling area. I am not sure if the new Startac Timeport phones (Silver ones) will work in a 1999 Slk.
I hope that helps.
