You need to have it scanned. It can be a few things. I believe some auto part stores can scan airbag systems.
When mine went bad, it would act up now and then when I had a passenger. Then finally one day, it stayed on all the time. I scanned it with my SDS and it was the seatbelt sensor in the receiver. The wire rubbed though along the bottom of the seat it got cut. I had to pull the seat but a simple solder and reposition the wire and it was all fixed.
