Thumbs up Pictures of the first mod

This might belong in the SLK forum or the Audio forum, but I wasn't sure so I'll put it here But I'm pretty excited about it! Move it if you must!! I just hope a couple people will be able to see it before it moves to the unknown :p

That looks pretty good, matches the trim. What brand? How much? And your review on it compared to the stock unit?

That's a good deck, my friend has one. It has so many do-hickeys that you can spend about a day or two(like we did) figuring it all out. What can i say, i have nothing better to do. The coolest part is that you should be able to download like screensavers and stuff.

Thanks everyone

It's a JVC Arsenal MP3 player. No XM or Sirius tuner. All the normal goodies plus a buttload of crap I'll never ever use, yeah it has the uploadable screensavers and such My only complaint is that even on volume 1 (goes to 30), you can't carry on a conversation if the car is parked...and forget talking on the phone, lol

It was about $430 but we got it for $280. Compared to stock it's MUCH louder and the sound quality is amazing, even with the stock speakers I already blew a few months ago, lol Obviously it's much sexier than the silly stock CASSETTE player and even though its pretty useless, the "angle" feature is pretty cool to mess with

you say that it's quite loud even at the lowest setting? Are you using strictly line connections, or did you happen to connect the high output to the line connection of the stock amp? Does it distort significantly at higher volumes? Perhaps you might benefit from a hi-low converter?

I can single handedly assemble a motor, but I have no idea what you just said, car audio isn't my thing But, no there's no distortion, that's all I know!

Re: MP3 Playback...Do you upload MP3's to it somehow or do you stick a CD-R with MP3's on it in there?

BTW, it looks really hot! I never was a big fan of aftermarket HU's because it takes away from the uniformity of OEM, but this one looks like it was made for your car. Very nice!

Not a big deal...if it doesn't bother you, then there's really nothing to ferret out.
