SLK/R170: Just got my SLK

Just got my SLK
Hello to everybody!
I´m now the proud owner of a 1998 SLK 230K and there are a couple of questions that I have to ask people experienced with this car.
First of all, the car has the original Mercedes Audio 10 Cd radio, and the only thing I don´t like is that I can´t play CD-R with it. Is it maybe because the car is from 1998? Is there anything I can do to be able to listen to this kind of CD's without having to change the original radio. Maybe installing a CD changer, but will this radio be able to control a CD changer?
Second thing is getting a windcover. Are they all the same? I mean if I get one now at the MB dealer, will it fit my car? Where else can I get a windcover that fits my car?
Last thing is I have the instruction book of the car and the radio in german since this car was bought originally in Germany. Is there anywhere on the net where I can get it in english or spanish?
