SLK/R170: slk230 roof retracts but with delay

slk230 roof retracts but with delay
Good day ladies and gents
I have a 1999 slk and the roof worked good until recently
when i pull on the lever, I can hear the motor humming ,,
I can see the wheel turning through the roof crank hole
the windows and the trunk respond immediately the roof
however takes a few moments to retract ,, I stop the retract
method (by letting go of the lever) and start again a couple
of times,, and it retracts .... or I just hold it until it retracts
(sometimes I'm holding the button for up to a minute)
Same to close the roof ,, windows and trunk respond
immediately,, however the roof delays (same as above)
I have checked the hydraulic fluid and it's full ,, (no leaks)
any help ?

Check your battery to make sure it has 12.5+ volts when the car's engine is not running... It could also be the hydraulic pump itself that is starting to fail.
