SLK/R170: My baby got rear-ended (SLK320)

SL500 and A-CLASS
My baby got rear-ended (SLK320)
My wife's car got rear-ended. The ash tray pop open and her top does not work when she picked up the car from the body-shop.

The body shop told me that they are not paying Mercedes for the inspection since Allstate declined the inspection request from the body-shop. Allstate finally agree to pay for the Mercedes dealer to see what is wrong with the top. My cars have excellent dealer service history.

The dealer said it needs to replace the hydraulic pump for the top. Is it possible that the rear-end accident caused the pump to go out?

The top was working the day before the accident.
